Charice sings her first single, "Note to God"

Charice sang her first US single, "Note to God" at Oprah today and i'm glad i got to watch it at you tube courtesy of seancarlos24, thanks so much!  This was produced by David Foster and written by Diane Warren.  Oprah, as usual was amazed by this "little girl's" talent.  For those who missed the show, here is the video on Charice's performance.

If you want to get a copy of the song, you can buy it from Amazon or download it from itunes.  I'm gonna get mine from itunes now.

Charter Gives Away Free Gift Cards For The Month Of May

Since we moved in to a new place, my internet connection has never been the same again.  My internet connection keeps on dropping and all I do is log in and out which is really a waste of time.  I could not even get my laptop working well because of this bad connection.  I heard about Charter Communications not only because of its great internet and home entertainment services but also of its amazing give-aways to customers in the past that range from laptops, Xbox 360 game systems, HDTVs and home theater system, and a 2009 Honda Civic Hybrid.  The great thing about it is:  everyone can join the sweepstakes – whether you are an existing customer or a potential one- with no purchase required.  How cool is that?  That is how they serve their customers.

Their bundle offers have been created to help customers enjoy great services in highest quality, with lower cost.  These make home entertainment lot of fun, isn’t it?  Charter has continued creating great bundle offers to respond to the different needs of their customers.  In fact, they have new bundle offers created for you which you should check out.  I know you cannot just ignore these offers especially if I tell you what Charter Communications is cooking up for this month of May.

Well, Charter is giving away free gift cards to everyone who registers within the month of May.  With Charter's Free Gift Card Sweepstakes, you can win one of the four weekly $1000 gift card prizes and a grand prize of $5000 in gift cards.  If you want to take your chance, buy anything from Charter.com within the month of May and you are automatically entered to win and you also get a gift card of $75 or $150, depending on the bundle that you bought.  To keep yourself updated with amazing deals and sweepstakes, you can FollowCharter on Twitter.

Trip to PA ....

Hubby and I just got back from a trip to PA over the weekend to attend the funeral of hubby's aunt which was held Saturday.  We left NY Friday night after work and the trip was smooth except for the continuous rain throughout the trip.  It was nice to see relatives there but it would have been more fun if we were all together not because of the sad event.  My iphone did not work there, bummer! I remember the first time i went there, i was using a cheap phone and it was working good, i spent a lot of time calling my friends while there.  Now, that i got an iphone, i could not get any service around the area.  No Service! Now, tell me how this works because i cannot understand why a cheap phone works well and this iphone did not when they were of the same provider - AT & T!

Get Those Shoes Ready!

I love shoes! I guess most women do!  I sometimes buy shoes even if I really don’t need it and I am guilty of that.  But since I discovered the best way of shopping which is of course online shopping, I also learned to get the best deals on shoes.  When it comes to buying shoes, there is only one place that I can recommend – ShopWiki!  I found out about this site when I was looking for a nice pair of winter boots last year.  A friend highly recommended this store to me when she found the best deal on wedding shoes for her sister.  It became, since then, my favorite store online.

Since the weather is now perfect for outdoor activities, I guess it’s time for me to start running or walking again – things I miss doing on winter time.  I started to get my stuff ready last weekend but unfortunately I couldn’t find my old pair of running shoes.  I’m sure it’s in one of those boxes in the attic that hubby dumped there when we moved to this place in December last year.  I need a new pair anyway, as those are already old and worn out.  I’m just glad I know where to get the best kind of running shoes

ShopWiki saves you a lot of money and time.  If you want to enjoy the great deals on shopping – you don’t need to go anywhere.  This is the perfect place for you – a one-stop shopping center that caters to all your needs.

Easy come, easy go....

We attended a chinese auction last Saturday to raise funds for a worthy cause  (blood donation, etc).  Hubby won some $180 cash, easy money, eh?  But you know what? On our way home, we were pulled over by a cop along Grand Island ...... for overspeeding (my husband of all people!)!  Cop said hubby was driving 46 MPH in a 30 MPH area which neither of us did not see, our fault, of course!  We were just talking about his winnings at the chinese auction when that cop interrupted us.  I said since it was an easy money, he should treat us to a pizza that night which he gladly agreed.  Then came the overspeeding incident.... That is what we mean by easy come, easy go, lol!  His winning will just go to the penalty charges, lol! But the good thing is:  we got a call the next day from the auction organizer that we won a basket of baby stuff which we picked up the following day.  Not so bad after all!

Happy Birthday Lui!

I called my son who turned 12 today to greet him on his birthday.  No one picked up the phone but after 3 attempts, somebody picked it up.  They woke my son up and i could hear he did not want to get up as he was so tired and sleepy from swimming all night and they just got home two hours ago.  I could fully understand that, no big deal!  But he got up alright, said hello, half awake, lol! I told him i just wanna greet him happy birthday then he could go back to bed.  He said "ah, ok!".  I told him, "ok, anak, happy birthday!"  Just to sound polite, he replied, "Happy Birthday too, bye!"  LOL!

Blogging for pay.....

Are you still blogging for pay?  I admire those who are still into it and have maintained their numerous blogs because that is absolutely not an easy thing to do.  And I failed on that aspect in my blogging.  I could not, for lots of reasons (most alibis, lol!) maintain my blog.  I have been slacking, not updating it regularly and totally quit paid blogging.  I have not even checked on the sites anymore, because the last time i checked, i noticed the offers were way too low.  No, thanks! This recession has obviously affected everyone worldwide and that includes the blogging industry.  I hope someday, the blogworld will be back and alive again.  Now, for those who still blog for money, good luck to you!  I hope we can find other ways to augment our income.

National Passport Day?

Today is Saturday so hubby and me had to get up earlier than usual to go to the Post office to submit our application for passport.  We thought post offices are only open until noon so we had to hurry.  Well, the post office here in Grand Island was not accepting passport applications but instead directed us to other post offices close by because luckily, today is declared as the National Passport Day so some post offices will be open all day to accept passport applications.  After paying $200 plus for me and hubby, we were told to expect our passports within 6-8 weeks, what????? That long?  Oh well.....

Goodbye Francis M!

The whole Philippines and filipinos around the world are mourning with the early demise of the Philippine's master rapper Francis Magalona.  He passed away March 6 at noon at the age of 44.

In August of 2008, he was diagnosed with leaukemia and had since lived so strong with his battle against this dreadful disease.  I was so shocked when i watched SNN last night because i just saw him last month so bubbly and full of life.  He is such an inspiration not only to his fellow artists but to all filipinos.  We will surely miss you Francis M!  For more details of Francis "kiko" Magalona, you can check this out!

UK Online Store Sells High Quality Brand Clothing

I used to do a lot of things online but lately, I have been slacking.  The only thing I still love doing is shopping online.  My latest amazing discovery is Divine Trash, a uk clothes shop that sells a wide selection of brands that are known for its high quality fashion.  I am so glad I have found this because I usually buy my brand clothes from a big online store but the prices are getting so costly, I can hardly afford it.

If you are looking for great deals on brand clothing, you are just lucky because Divine Trash has something for you.  Divine Trash offers huge discounts on select items, which you should not miss.  I found really nice Fenchurch shirts and a leather jacket from its selection of Fly53 clothing, for hubby.  As for myself, I am still debating whether I get those nice shirts and tops now or get them later.  For those living in UK, you are so lucky because delivery is free for all UK orders.  So for all fashion lovers out there who want to take advantage of these great deals, check out Divine Trash now!  With Divine Trash, you can be fashionable and wear your favorite brand of clothing without spending too much cash!

kid becomes a father at 13!

OMG! What is happening in the world today?  A 13-year old boy in UK became a father to a baby girl.  The boy who doesn't look 13 at all ( he looks like an 8-year old), according to report, had sex with his 15-year old girlfriend only once.  Boy, he doesn't even know what "financially" means.  The first time i saw their pic together, i thought the kid was his baby sister.  The young mother doesn't look 15 to me, she looks like 30!  Good Lord!  What is going on in the world today?  Here is the video if you have not seen it already.

Happy Hearts Day!!

Today is Valentines Day but in my household, nothing is special.  We will spend the day as just an ordinary day and since it is Saturday, then it is our movie night.  We wil probably dine out tonight instead of ordering food to be delivered at home.  I did not get my hubby anything and neither did he as agreed upon by both of us.  He said we can celebrate valentines any day anyway and love should not be expressed only on Valentines Day, which makes sense.  But anyway, i wish everyone a happy hearts day!  I hope you all had a great one!  Keep that love going.

Scam Alert! Online Buyers Beware!

I posted this in my two other blogs to warn online shoppers of this site called omegaesupplements.com where i had a very bad experience in dealing with their customer service.

I have always been shopping online and i love it! I love the convenience it offers to customers and i have not encountered any problem until my recent purchase at this site called Omega E-Supplements where i bought a tub pillow and a pack of dead sea salt. After a week, i got an email tellimg me that the items were shipped. After another week, i got the package with only the tub pillow so obviously the pack of salt was missing. I waited for few more days hoping they were shipped separately. Then i emailed customer service to inform them i did not get the salt but i only got this stupid auto response and nothing else. After a couple of days, i sent another email but still got no response. Since my emails were being ignored, i went to the site and contacted them there but still heard nothing from them.

I was so pissed at how this site treat their customers. The salt is only less than $3 but i still believe they should let me know why it never came. I sent another email and this time i told them how disgusted i am for their poor customer service and told them their customer service sucks big time. After few minutes, i got a reply for the first time telling me that they emailed me and informed me that the said salt is no longer available and that they are issuing me refund. I told them that if they really emailed me, which i never got even in my spam folder, then show me a proof that they sent that email or issued me refund because i never got a refund. Why would i waste my time emailing them if i did get an email from them.

The next day, they sent me an email saying "here is the email we sent you" and asked me to check my spam folder because they said it happens all the time. Great! The email they copied and sent me did not even came from them but it was my email. So i told them to check what they just sent me because they forgot to change or edit the sender of the email, bummer! And there was really no email in the first place, anyway! So i asked them to go ahead and just send me my refund to get done with it! They didn't insist in their next email and just told me to wait till Monday when they're back at their office so they can check the transaction number and date.

I waited Monday and no refund was issued. Tuesday.... still nothing. So Wednesday, i sent the transaction details to make their work easier but i am still waiting for that refund. Beware of this site! I checked the site and the salt that they claimed was no longer available is still posted there. This is the worst customer service i have ever encountered in my dealings online. Their customer service definitely sucks big time! Remember the site: http://www.omegaesupplements.com/ - avoid buying from them!

Nadya Suleman: The Octuplet Mom

I'm sure by now everybody have heard about Nadya Suleman, the very controversial octuplet mom in California, USA.  Nadya has been under the public eye after giving birth to 8 kids while she was jobless, single and has already 6 kids, three of these 6 kids are disabled.  She got all her kids through the help of same fertility specialist who implanted the embryos on her.  I was watching her interview with Ann Curry and i can say, there is definitely wrong with this woman.  But in fairness, she talks with sense and seemed so confident about her decision and i guess getting herself into this situation is a choice she made.  Some say she is obsessed with having kids; being selfish and had some cosmetics surgery to look like Angelina Jolie.  When i saw her photos before, when she was younger, and looking at her now, it does seem that she had changes in her face - nose, lips and eyes, but she denied this allegation.  Here is the video and let me know what you think about this issue.

Temperature update.....

It's freezing over here in western NY and i think in all parts of the country.  Right now, we are sitting at 9F.  I think this year's winter has been the worst winter since i got here in 2004.  Even before winter officially started, we already had bouts of snow storms, freezing rain and snow snow and snow all over!  My knees would shake when i walk on snow because i am so scared i would fall or slip.  Imagine yourself walking in wet ice! I keep on whining each day about this dreadful weather and poor hubby just say, "you're in Buffalo, hello"!  I know all of us are experiencing this cold weather right now, even in the Philippines, which is unbelievable!

I Found The Best Deals On Car DVD Players!

The Christmas season is over but I am still waiting on one Christmas present that I bought online two weeks before Christmas.  It was a present for my first grand kid and I already told the poor kid that I had a special present for her.  I felt I need to save my face and do something and I am glad I found a saving grace in ShopWiki.com.

I have been an online shopper and there is nothing better and more convenient than online shopping although there are risks especially if you don’t know where to go.  I guess that was what happened to me because I tried to buy that gift from a store I never heard before.  Anyway, since the kid is now getting older and is now enjoying watching movies, I thought of getting her a portable DVD player and couple of kids’ movies which I found at ShopWiki.  I am pretty sure she would love this gadget since the family enjoys going on trips on weekends.  Any of this DVD players  will keep the kid occupied especially on long trips.

What I like about shopping at shopwiki is the fact that I don’t have to spend long time searching the net for stores that sell the items I wanted because shopwiki is like a one-stop shopping center where customers can browse for items they are looking for and it will show which stores sell those items.  It doesn’t only save you time, it also saves you money and lots of trouble since you can also find great deals there too.  So, if you are like me who wants to save every penny you can get, shopwiki is the right place for you and I can personally vouch for it.  It is my favorite shopping destination online!  Check it out!

I hope everything is working great for you!

Happy New Year!

I tried to call my family in the Philipines but my calls won't get through.  I believed most Filipinos here in the US and other parts of the globe have been calling their families in the Phil. and that caused the heavy traffic.  I ended up just texting everyone and i'm glad they understand.  As usual, Larry and I worked all day yesterday and stayed home with movies to watch, expecting some company (Vana and George) to come by, but they begged off later so it was only me and Larry waiting for the clock to strike 12mn to meet the new year.  We ordered pizza and wings and watched 3 movies.  I heard no noise; no firecrackers. no fireworks; which is a far cry from the way New year is being celebrated in the Philippines.  But anyway, i hope this year of the ox will be a lot better for all of us.  Happy New year 2009 to all!

How did you spend christmas?

Since my mother-in-law is here with us, our christmas was a bit hectic visiting one relative to another.  Larry and I worked all day on christmas eve and tried to stop by Walmart for our last-minute shopping but to our dismay, most stores closed at 6PM including Walmart.  The traffic was also bad so we came home with nothing bought.  Christmas day, we had to get up early so we can open our gifts, then got ready to go to a niece's house for a christmas breakfast.  Then came back home for an hour or so and headed to my sister-in-law's house for christmas dinner.

I guess the freezing weather plus the noise and all that gave me a mild migraine.  It was tolerable but i had to take my pill before it got worse.  We actually just got back from that dinner.  I was totally exhausted and would have preferred to have stayed home.  Christmas to me is only for kids; i don't get excited about it anymore.  It is to me a depressing and stressful time of the year.  Maybe its just me because i miss my family more during these times and i wished i have sent my siblings even small presents but i was not able to do that too.  I'm sure that also added to what I am feeling now. How about you?  How did you celebrate your christmas?  I hope you had a great one!

Totally inspiring....

There are days when you feel so down and you don't even know why.  I feel that these days that christmas is fast approaching.  I blame it on the season and of course the changing hormones (if you know what i mean!).  But if we think about what we have and what we got and continue to get, I'm sure I can say that most of us would find how blessed we are as compared to many people.  There are lots of things that truly inspire us to live and to love and to share.  And talking about total inspiration, here is something ( a video) that is totally inspiring,  Don't miss this one, it's gonna touch your hearts!  Watch this VIDEO.

Put A Stop To Annoying Calls! Report Phone Numbers!

I usually don’t pick up the phone if I get calls from numbers that I don’t recognize because I think if the message is really important, the caller could always leave a message. Most of the calls I get daily come from telemarketers. How about you? Do you get calls from people you don’t know? Are you getting annoying calls enough to bother you? If you do, you can report these numbers at http://www.reportphonenumbers.com for other users to comment or give feedback on. You are also free to do the same on numbers being reported by other users. I believe that this Phone Number Reporting will at least minimize the number of people getting scammed as it gives them an idea what is expected from those calls. So, if you have this problem, you know where to go - let others know!

I am working in a hospital and we recently launched a study on past patients – those as old as 10 years ago.  The researchers had a hard time tracking them down as most of them have already moved.  We tried using various services online but they were not really of great help until we found out about Nationwide Phone Lookup’s great service where users can get details of any person in the USA based on telephone numbers, whether cell phone or landphone.  The Reverse Phone Lookup did an amazing job in helping our researchers in their study.  So, if you need the latest details of anyone and all you got is his or her telephone number, the reverse phone lookup service will do the job for you.
